Work Sauvignon Blanc Napa
Valley 2003
Vibrant and
fragrant, with excellent intensity to passion fruit, grapefruit, green
apple and grass flavors. The wealth of flavors lingers, with a hint
of cedar and tart citrus tanginess that invites food. Drink now
through 2005. 730 cases made. – J. L.

This description of our 2003
vintage wine is from the wine consultants at D & M Wine and Liquors on
Filmore St. in San Francisco . . . . “Very clear straw color. The
nose is spicy, with melon, pineapple, lemon grass and minerals all
making an appearance. In the mouth it’s bright and showy. There’s a
cinnamon spiciness along with bright casaba melon fruit, as well as
pineapple all on a sleek
texture. There’s a steely
acid backbone throughout making this just call out for grilled
salmon. It finishes with a mineral snap. This is the real deal,
great Napa Sauvignon Blanc!”

Work Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley 2003
As bright and rich in sweet lime, fig and tropical fruit flavors as last
year's release, and as crisp, with a lush, creamy texture. The creamy
texture leads to a very long, spicy finish. – S. H.

Work 2002 Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley
Another fine
release from Work. This wine shows bright, rich flavors of sweet
lime, fig, and even a smattering of tropical fruits. Yet it is crisp
and dry, with a steely mouth feel that cleanses the palate. The
creamy texture leads to a very long spicy finish. – S. H.

Work 2001 Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley
Shares more than
a little in common with New Zealand Sauvignons in the intense
gooseberry, juniper and lemon rind flavors. The wine is crisp and
nervy, with a streak of acidity that penetrates the palate. The
finish is very long and spicy. One of the more interesting Sauvignons
of the current crop, and a wine to watch. – S. H.
